Dentures & Partials in San Antonio

If you are missing several teeth or you are facing the loss of all your teeth, you probably have complicated feelings about the situation.

We get it. Tooth loss is deeply personal, and it affects your health and your emotional wellbeing in countless ways.

We want you to know that we are on your side, and we have helped many people in your situation. We also want you to know that tooth loss doesn’t mean that you are doomed to a fake-looking, uncomfortable smile with false teeth that slip, slide, and constantly embarrass you either.

We’d like to introduce you to modern dentures.

TODAY’S DENTURE DIFFERENCE

Many of our patients come to us worried that they are going to wind up with dentures like the ones they remember from their youth – the ones their parents or grandparents wore.

The reality, however, is far different!

Modern dentures are carefully customized to fit well and look natural. We take impressions and photographs and provide these to the lab, along with careful instructions, so that you get a one-of-a-kind fit and new teeth that complement your bone structure and natural skin tone.

If you look at the teeth in your denture, you’ll notice that they are crafted to have the subtle variation that occurs in natural teeth. This helps prevent the artificial appearance that plagued denture wearers of the past.

PARTIAL DENTURES

If you are missing multiple teeth, we may discuss partial dentures. This is an affordable way to complete your smile and your chewing surface. Unlike complete dentures, which rely primarily on suction to stay in place, partial dentures are held in place with clasps that fit around your remaining healthy teeth.

Both types of dentures require regular care and maintenance to stay in good shape. We’ll provide you with the information you need to clean your dentures and recommendations for appropriate products. In general, plan to clean your dentures at least once a day to keep them fresh and free from bacteria. You should also return to our office regularly so we can check the fit of your dentures since your bone structure and gum tissue will change over time.

IMPLANT-SUPPORTED DENTURES

While the fit of modern dentures is considerably better than dentures of the past, particularly when it comes to upper dentures, there is still some risk of slipping. But we have a solution for that.

Strategically placed dental implants can be used to secure a denture in place. Once the denture is snapped over the implants, it won’t budge until you are ready to remove it!

We’d be happy to talk with you about your options and see if you are a good candidate for implant-supported dentures, a great way to combine the affordability of dentures with the stability and convenience of implants!
